The gin for the second day of Ginvent was Strane Merchant Strength Gin (47.4 % abv) from the Swedish distillery, Smögen Whisky.
I found it peppery with herbal and maybe earthy notes. I quite liked it. Not as much as the previous day’s gin, but it nevertheless got a respectable it got a 6/10 from me. I would definitely drink this one again, quite happily.
This is what the distiller says about its Strane Merchant Strength Gin:
This is our standard offering, at a hearty 47,4 % alc/vol and bristling with character, it emphasizes the smoothness that the high copper contact in our tiny whisky pot still offers to the spirit, while also providing sincere depth and strength of character, led by juniper, coriander seeds and the herbal contents, in particular mint.
