We were expecting someone to come and look at the sewers a couple of weeks ago, but no-one came. Today, they did come.
A man in a fluorescent top said they were going to have a look at the sewers and maybe do some digging up and stuff. But first, I had to move my car because it was parked over the inspection cover.
They gave the sewer an colonoscopy to see what was happening up there. Apparently, there was a lot of debris in there because I had to move my car off the road and back on the drive so the lorry could come and give the sewer a colonic irrigation.
Eventually, the lorry finished, and the man told me that the sewer needed a new lining. Someone will be in touch with us about that. When I relayed this to Colin, he asked how that someone would be getting in touch with us.
‘I don’t know,’ I said.‘By phone?’
‘I don’t know.’
‘By post?’
‘I don’t know.’
‘By email?’
‘I don’t know.’
I guess I should have asked the man.
