Parkrun 44

On this page:

The sun was hot, the breeze was cool. The sun won, with the breeze not being cooling enough while still being strong enough to hinder progress on the top field. Against my better judgement, I did walk at times, but it didn’t feel right until the third pass of the drove. Until then, I walked a few steps then started off with a very slow jog. That third pass of the drove was energy-sapping, and I couldn’t run along all of it. With encouragement from the tailwalker, I did manage to get back into it, though.

My time was a little slower than last week’s, but still an improvement on parkrun 42.

Running leggings

As I was trundling along the far edge of the top field, a lady caught up to me. She advised me that my leggings weren’t in great condition at the back. You’ll recall I needed some new ones anyway: my trusty Skins are finally wearing out after five years of not-quite constant use.

When I got home, I looked on the internet for some new ones. I realised that if I was going to lose weight, I shouldn’t get an expensive pair because I’ll need a smaller size eventually (if all goes to plan). I looked at Decathlon, after a friend raved about them recently, and found the perfect pair for £12.99. They should arrive in time for Saturday.
