PhD thesis

Doing a PhD will obviously give me ample opportunity to write. See the following for more on my PhD:

Blogging

I maintain two blogs, Pandammonia, which is snippets of my life and how I see the world around me, and a reading list, where I record what books I'm reading and sometimes what I think of them. I update the former more frequently than the latter, overall. My writing style is undefined as yet, I'd say. Ideally, I'd like it to be pithy and witty, but I think it's probably not unfair to say it's actually a bit waffly. I am sure I can improve upon it.

NaNoWriMo

Widget with current NaNoWriMo word count I have always wanted to write a novel but never got round to it. I have discovered the perfect solution: National Novel Writing Month. You've got to write a novel of 50,000 words in November. It's about quantity not quality, just so you can say you've written a novel. No-one will read it though; they just count the words.

You can track any progress I happen to make by following my blog (search: NaNoWriMo) or by looking at my NaNoWriMo user page, simply by looking at the widget or looking at my official progress report.

2008 (year 10)

Again, the month of writing novels nationwide is almost upon us. Keep an eye on the widget to follow my progress. It'll be slow, I imagine, if at all it does progress.

BBC End of Story

Looks like it might be time to get my creative writing juices (shh!) flowing again; the BBC have started a writing competition called End of Story (2004). Annoyingly, it seems to be a BBC Three thing, which I don't have, but never mind. Also never mind the fact that I'm too late to find a copy of the free book they published. I'm still going to enter though. What's the odds I don't finish?

Summer, 2004

Well. I entered it, but I never finished it. To be truthful, I never even started it. *sheepish*
