The world that revolves around Caity Ross
The world that revolves around Caity Ross
A couple of Fridays ago, I was a bit on the tipsy side and agreed that me and Colin would go to watch the match yesterday at Histon. It was Kendo’s testimonial match, playing against Micky Quinn’s Allstars, who consisted of Spidermonkey, on the subs bench until some point in the second half, some ex-players and other such jackies.
Histon won, the final score being something like 11-2. Micky Quinn was fat, was round, he bounced on the ground.
There were beers afterwards in the bar (as opposed to the beers during, in the stands, and beforehand, in the Railway Vue, which will shortly be changing its name to the Guided Busway Vue).
Friday was nailbiting as I watched Sunderland get beat by Crystal Palace in the first leg of the Play-offs. I hope we can make amends tonight, in the second leg…
Saturday was glorious. C and I lounged in the sun and had a BBQ, and for once didn’t buy extremely excessive amounts of meat; just too much, instead
The evening was spent watching Eurovision. As usual, the country I chose beat the team C chose.
Sunday was more lounging in the sun. At some point C went to Tesco, and I lay reading in the garden (being the lazy sod that I am!).
I caught a glimpse of Dusty disappearing into the house, after being away for some time. Then she started making awful “miiiiiiiiieeeoooooo” noises. I was most puzzled, so went to investigate, and there she was, sitting, looking most pleased with herself, beside a bird she’d clearly just caught. I was not happy about this. The only dead birds allowed in my house are ones bought from a shop.
I told her to take it outside, but she furrily refused, so I went off to get lots of kitchen roll, and picked it up using said kitchen roll and plonked it in the wheelie bin. When I went back inside, Dusty was sniffing about, looking for her bird. She spent ages looking for it, and eventually gave up, but refused to move from the spot she’d last seen it. Daft cat!
She has proved she’s not completely stupid though, and has finally worked out the treat-under-the-tin trick!
At Work
Hah! It turns out there are now two of us at work. Well, obviously, I’ve been there ages, but an announcement came round via email this afternoon about another one joining. It makes me so happy.
Sorrows will be drowned
Tonight
I was a bit apprehensive about tonight, what with the history and everything, but I really quite enjoyed it. And I didn’t even get completely pissed! We had a nice bar meal and a nice, civilised chat, although it could have descended into a slagging match at one stage. We were both adult enough to realise that was not constructive, however.
Unfortunately, Dusty is now being completely mad, jumping about like a loon. Actually, she was behaving oddly before I went out. Maybe she’s cross with me. There’s no sign of the Miaowser ![]()
