That cat! by Pandammonium at 15.03 BST, 13 Oct 2008

Yesterday, I went to the farmers’ market, and bought some fruit and veg and meat. I also sample raspberry brandy—quite tasty, actually—and bought the cat some cat grass and a small sheepskin pet mat.

She eats grass to aid her digestion—she always comes back in when it’s at its most effective. Lovely. So I thought I’d get her some cat grass – cats like it, it says on the label tucked into the soil in the little pot. And it’s good for their digestion. The man said, “Cats like it. There’s a man comes every week and buys several pots. He’s got several cats.” So I bought it.

The cat has a fluffy cushion that she sleeps on, and she has a bed with a fleecy cushion in it, which she used to like. These are in her bedroom. She has a bed she got for Christmas last year that she doesn’t sleep in. I wondered if it’s because she doesn’t like the cushion because it’s not fluffy or fleecy. So I thought I could get her some soft and fluffy or fleecy. What’s more so than a sheepskin rug specially made for pets? Nothing, so I bought one for her, with the intention of putting it in the bed she doesn’t like, and she’d then love and go in it all the time. She hates it. She won’t go near it. I swapped it for her cushion in her bedroom last night. She slept with us all night, which is what she does when we have someone staying over in her room. This is not good because she takes up all the space.

So, I bought two treats for the cat, and she likes neither. T’riffic.
