Had to post some letters and stuff, so I thought I’d take the cat, as she’d just gone out anyway, and she loves to follow us if we go out, and the post box is just up the road a bit. The way there was ok, with the odd pause while she checked everything was ok and to wait while the cars went past on the main road (she doesn’t comprehend that they don’t go on the path, where we were), but on the way back, there were more people and cars – a bad time to go, I suspect. Next time, it’ll be daylight and not approaching home-time.
She did either a long wee or a quick poo in the playground on the way home1, with me vaguely wondering if that was hygienic for kids, but then I realised that I just didn’t care, and she dug a hole and covered it up anyway. She made a much better job of that than she does in the litter tray – less digging of walls and doors and hard flooring etc.. Then again, there was only the mulch and soil to dig at there.
I had to pick her up from someone’s utility meter box in the end, as she was too wussed out by the barking of a dog. I held her close and tight, letting her go only when we were back in the safety of the house. She hid under the kitchen table sulking until I gave her some prawn treats as a reward for her wussiness. I should take them with us next time as well.
Oh, and if you’re that male child on the bike with a cigarette in your hand: you didn’t look cool; you looked silly.
