The world that revolves around Caity Ross

General Stuff

Music

Oh yes, last night, I went to a gig in the Boatrace, Cambridge. It was fantastic. I so enjoyed it. The first band up for the audience’s delectation was Byrne, from Glasgow. I thought they were brilliant and I only fancied about half of them. They were one of those bands that really throw their emotions into their music, so they maybe looked a bit silly, but when a band is so clearly into what they are doing, it’s infectious. The music itself was really good too; I so enjoyed them. Saloon, up next, were not what my cup of tea at all. They were like five separate people on the stage, playing instruments. They didn’t seem like they were part of one band and the girls looked very nervous. Also the violinist looked like she was in training to be a nun! Stereolab, they were compared unfavorably to, but I don’t know Stereolab…

The headlining band, The Broken Family Band, who I wish I’d seen when they were only a support band, were really good. I wasn’t entirely impressed by them until they sang a song about how you broke my fucking heart [sic]. From then on, after identifying with that sentiment, I really got into them, and am looking forward to seeing them again, and in general, just going to another gig Tikka and the Irish Boy recommend.

Any regrets? Yes - not going sooner!

Sport

Oh, yes, and England won the rugby :)
I supported mainly England, but being a fraction Irish *waits for the Plastic Paddy comments to end* wasn’t entirely fussed over who won.

But now it’s over: ENGERLAND!!

Mother’s Day

Didn’t send my mam a card, but that was because I was poorly-bad. When I did have the chance to buy her a card, I was so busy on concentrating on buying things like orange juice (for the vitamin C) to remember buying a card for my mam. It’s ok, though; I’ve cleared it with her. Although I am now worried about her - the Bethany church?!

I must speak to my brother about her…
