I’ve now added the category descriptions to pages displaying the posts in a given category. All I needed to do was to edit archive.php (not archives.php) to include a call to category_description().

Now all I have to do is the hard part: organising the damn thing.

And put the posts that are in the miscellany category that shouldn’t be there into the correct category or categories.

Something else I want to do, over time, is to correct all the <em> tags to <i> where it’s inappropritae to have the former. The reason they are there in the first place is because WordPress irritatingly assumes you want them when you click the italics button in the editor. Why, I don’t know, but it does seem to be a general state of affairs. It is for this reason that I deliberately don’t have <em> displayed as italics in my style sheet. Ha!
