We are Japanese, if you please

After feasting on Japanese food at a belated FAB last week, C got it into his head that I could buy some sushi at Tesco today, seeing as it’s shopping day today.  I said no, but I did look at a packet in the snacks and sarnies bit, but I put it back down.  I was buying miso soup anyway, and on the same shelf as that, there was a load of sushi-making stuff, like seaweed sheets, mirin, rice wine vinegar, wasabi and ginger, so they all went into the trolley as well!

I created a Japanese feast of my own, without using the miso soup as soup, but as a coating for the tuna I’d already bought – there was a recipe for this on the side of the packet, and I’d already put the tuna in the trolley – very convenient!

I want to get some udon noodles or ramen noodles or something, to go with the miso soup, next week.  In the meantime, I’ll put veg and fishy things in it, I think.

Last week, I bought some Indian-type stuff: some lentil soup mix and some pancakey-things mix.  The former was quite nice, but the latter ended up as a heap on a plate.  It was nice nonetheless.

I like buying these exotic foodstuffs – makes mealtimes more exciting!

Tell the world about this!
