Plant Update
Well, one of the plants in the blue trough has actually flowered! It’s not the one I thought would flower first, though. It was the one with red/purple leaves. It produced four delicate pink flowers. Very pretty – a bee even went in one of them! Unfortunately, the flowers seem to be too delicate to survive the rain we’ve been having recently and two of them shrivelled. But that’s not my fault…
The other two plants in the trough are bursting with flower buds, but so far, there’s no sign of any of them actually opening. The plant by itself is absolutely no different to when it was first bought. It drooped a lot a few days ago, but a load of water soon sorted it out.
The herbs are in a bit of a mixed state. The mint and basil seem to be doing ok, although something is eating the basil. I’m cross about that. The parsley is mainly droopy, but there are some vigorous shoots in the middle that look promising. The chives have also been eaten, but again, I don’t know by what. What else is there? The rosemary. The tips of some of the leaves are going brown. It seems ok apart from that. The dill seems to be ok, too. The coriander is an unprecedented disarster! It drooped and so couldn’t dry out properly after the rain, so it went soggy. I removed the sogginess a while ago, but I had to remove more yesterday. There’s hardly any left now. Hopefully, the forecast heat wave will help. I will have to remember to water all my plants though.
Oh, and when I was tending to the parsley, I saw the brown shell of a huge snail! “Oh!” I cried out, alarming the cats and I ran back in the house, with the pair of them close behind me. (Aw!)
Wednesday Night
I got very, very pissed and vomited a lot the next day. Maybe I was food poisoned… Anyway, I left work early, slept a lot, watched some telly then finished off the work I was meant to be doing whilst at work.
Source of Happiness
And now I can’t put this news off any longer: I’m very happy to announce that C and I are back together again. That’s why last weekend was so good. This will hopefully mean the end of the bender I’ve been on for the last few months!
